Global Emerging Trends and Socio-Cultural Shifts: Leading the Changing Patterns of Consumer Behavior

Abstract

Saudi Arabia’s young customers are tech-savvy, and they are driving the country’s socioeconomic revolution at breakneck speed. The study examined the impact of emerging trends and changing shopping habit on consumer behavior based on survey data from 212 Saudi customers. Trust is the strongest positive predictor for buy intention followed by trust in legitimacy of the product and trust in payment method. Price sensitivity is still at the core of it all as consumers are searching for a fair price and deals that are always available. There are social aspects, but they are secondary to trust and pricing. It is important to retain customers and make them repeat purchasers, and this is a function of convenience and overall client satisfaction. To keep up with a rapidly modernizing Saudi market companies will need to focus on service reliability, competitive pricing and frictionless shopping experiences, the survey says. All of these were highly aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030, which supported the development of an innovative and customer-centric commercial sector that serves a digitally equipped population.
